BOW WOW'S BIOGRAPHY
Columbus, Ohio native Lil' Bow Wow, also known as Bow Wow, was born as Shad Gregory Moss on March 9, 1987. He first began
to perform his raps when he was only five years old. When he threw out his stylings to the audience on the Chronic Tour, one
of those most impressed was famous rapper Snoop Dogg, who right away nicknamed the young talent Lil' Bow Wow.
By the time the lil' rapper was 13 he had worked on the soundtracks for Wild Wild West and Big Momma's House and was featured
in magazines including People, Vibe and even Esquire. In 2000 he released his first CD called Beware of Dog which included
the hits Bow Wow (That's My Name), which featured Snoop and Bounce With Me. The cool thing about Lil Bow Wow is that he doesn't
sing profanity-filled lyrics like so many other rap acts do. In an interview on MTV.com he said "I feel real good about being
a role model, because so many kids are looking up to me already. But I have to tell them that you can't be like me. You've
gotta try to be better than I can be. You've gotta try to be yourself, really." Another reason to look up to Lil Bow Wow is
that he gets above-average grades in school - even with his crazy schedule.
On December 18, 2001, Lil Bow Wow released his second album, Doggy Bag, with the hit single Thank You which is dedicated
to his fans.
Aside from his own stuff he's also been featured on songs by Snoop, Will Smith and joined other artists on Destiny's Child's
Jumpin' Jumpin' remix. Lil' Bow Wow is off to a great start at such a young age.
Boo Wow also has parlayed his rap success into film roles with an appearance in 'All About the Benjamins', MTV's 'Carmen:
A Hip Hopera', and his latest, 'Like Mike'. His television appearances include 'Moesha', 'The Steve Harvey Show', and 'Jenny
Jones'.
